Great Wall

Berwick Great Wall is showing the latest from Great Wall, the first Chinese brand to have a serious presence in Australia. Great Wall offers two twin cab utilities. The V240 4x2 sells for a class leading $23,990 on road, with the 4x4 option costing just $3,000 extra, while the SA220 sells for a remarkable $19,990 on road. Both vehicles feature electric windows, alloy wheels, leather trimmed seats and air conditioning. They carry a three year/100,000km warranty, offering an opportunity to enter the new car market at a second-hand price. Braked towing capacities are 1800 kg for the SA220 and 2250 kg for both versions of the V240.

 

 

Fi-Glass Cavalier

All new is the Fi-Glass Cavalier making its Australian debut on the Avante Marine stand. The Cavalier won Boat of the Show at its first New Zealand boat show a few weeks ago. Although Fi-Glass is new to Australia, it has been building family trailerboats in New Zealand since the early 1960s. The Cavalier is a 5.4 metre cuddy designed to be easy to manage on the water and easy to tow behind a family sedan. It borrows many key features from larger Fi-Glass models, including its deep vee hull design with wide chine flats and a variable deadrise which warps to 22 degrees at the transom.


 


Nissan

Heading up the Nissan line-up at Melbourne Leisurefest are its heavy duty tow vehicles, with Navara and Pathfinder capable of towing up to 3,000 kg and the Patrol topping out with 3,500 kg. For those seeking a smaller, more economical but versatile vehicle, the Nissan Xtrail combines family room and all-wheel-drive with a choice of 2.5 litre petrol and thrifty 2.0 turbo diesel engines.

 

 


Mitsubishi Triton & Outlander

Mitsubishi has the new Triton and Outlander at Leisurefest. Outlander features bold new frontal styling inspired by the Lancer Evolution X, a refreshed interior and more advanced drivetrains featuring the 2.4 litre MIVEC four cylinder and 3.0 litre MIVEC V6 engines. New Triton promises more power and safety, plus greater towing and load capacity, including the option of an extended tray. Big news is the new, high-powered (HP) 2.5-litre turbo diesel engine on four-wheel drive variants, with more power, torque and economy than the previous 3.2-litre engine. Two-wheel-drive Tritons retain the popular 2.4-litre petrol engine and 2.5-litre diesel engine from the previous line-up.

 

 

Bayliner 175 Bowrider

Starring on the Avante Marine stand is the new Bayliner 175 Bowrider, designed to deliver fun, spaciousness and quality in an affordable family runabout. Its tough vinyl upholstery, stainless steel hardware and hose-and-go cleaning make for easy maintenance, and a new curved safety glass windshield and deep freeboard add extra security, especially with children aboard. The hull is engineered for exceptional performance and economy on the standard 135 hp MerCruiser Alpha I. Manageable both on the water and on the trailer, its spacious cockpit features swivelling bucket helm seat, portside sleeper seat and two aft jump seats, plus two large seats in the bow.

 

 

Suzuki Grand Vitara

A firm favourite for compact off-roading and towing is the Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Berwick Suzuki is showing it in freshly updated three-door and five-door form. Boasting greater comfort, a smoother ride and their lowest cabin noise levels ever, the new models also offer Electronic Stability Program (ESP), front, side and curtain airbags, four wheel disc brakes and ABS with EBD and brake assist. Grand Vitara's newly developed 2.4-litre VVT engine records official fuel economy of a thrifty 8.9 l/100km, and the monocoque body is combined with a ladder-frame chassis for safety, durability and reliability.

 

 

 

Jeep Grand Cherokee

Those who seek an off-roader or tow vehicle with 65 years of brand tradition will take a shine to the Jeep Grand Cherokee. In addition to proven off-road ability and the ability to tow up to 3,500 kg, the Grand Cherokee offers a unique selection of engines ranging from a thrifty 3.0 litre V6 diesel up to a choice of mighty Hemi V8s. Streaker Boats

Leon & Paul Savage’s Streaker Boats has a big spread of fibreglass and aluminium boats on offer at Leisurefest, with the Streaker 545 Navigator heading the list. Following its show debut at the recent Melbourne Boat Show, the 545 Navigator is generating a lot of interest with its full walk-through design and traditional Streaker quality. Other show stars from Streaker range include the 502 walk-through and the 635 Commander hard-top.
